Lucy Allen's Apple pie
Ingredients:
One pie crust filling 6 cups thinly sliced & peeled apples 1 Tbs lemon juice 3/4 cup sugar 2 Tbs flour 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg crumb top 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup brown sugar 3 Tbs softened butter |
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375'. Apples will be sliced very thinly and lemon juice is mixed with apples. The rest of the ingredients are mixed together & then mixed with apples. The apples are put into the prepared crust. Next, half a cup of flour & half a cup of brown sugar are mixed. Then, using a pastry blender, the butter is cut into the mixture until there is a resemblance of crumbs. That is then sprinkled heavily over the top. Then tin foil is placed around the rim. It has a hole cut out of the middle. Bake for 40 minutes and then remove the foil and bake 20 more. |
