Ingredients:
Cake: 1 1/2 cups flour 1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 stick unsalted butter, softened 1 cup sugar 2 large eggs, at room temp. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2/3 cup whole milk, at room temp. Frosting: 4 large egg whites 3/4 cup sugar pinch of salt 2 sticks unsalted butter, cut into pieces Create: Vanilla on vanilla is a great flavor base to expand on! Instructions:
Cake: Preheat oven to 350' Line a cupcake pan with 12 liners Sift flour, powder, and salt Cream butter & sugar Mix in eggs Mix in vanilla Add half of the dry ingredients & mix well Add milk & mix well Add the other half of the dry ingredients & mix well. Divide batter into wells Bake at 350' for 20 mins, rotating the pan halfway through Let cool for 5 mins Remove from pans and cool completely before frosting Frosting: Whisk whites, sugar, & salt in a double boiler Set side to cool Whisk until soft peaks form Beat in butter a few pieces at a time Beat until smooth. |
